She has been developing research in Aquatic Microbial Ecology in the Centre for Marine and Environmental Sciences (CIMA), and her major research interests include the regulation of planktonic microbial communities, and the effects of natural and anthropogenic stressors. She is a member of the ICES Working Group on Phytoplankton and Microbial Ecology (WGPME), and has been involved in 12 European and national funded research projects, under strong international cooperation. She is curently supervising 2 post-doctoral researchers, and has supervised 1 PhD student, 4 masters&rsquo; students, and 12 undergraduates. She has published 13 peer-reviewed research articles, and has contributed to 3 book chapters.&nbsp;</span></span>
